ABOUT US

Roch Services GmbH is the market leader for stability testing of vertically anchored systems, based on a recognised method for non-destructive testing of mast systems.

These are carried out according to the process description of Roch Services GmbH, certified and accredited as per DIN EN ISO/IEC with the accreditation number 17025:2005, including the European patent EP 3 252 451 B1. This testing method enables an economic stability test based on comprehensible physical principles and in accordance with the legal requirements - fast, transparent and efficient.

We are pleased to be able to give you an insight into our work.

Company

In the mid-90s the Roch brothers thought about how to tell whether a mast is stable or not.

Mathias and Oliver Roch quickly realised that the test methods known up to then (ultrasound, simple stress tests, hammer blow) did not provide any reliable results and therefore no definite statement on safety. Together with experts in metallurgy and statics, they developed the Roch Method for stability testing of vertically anchored systems. This technology set new standards and is constantly being developed further.

The Roch Method records measured values and data on the basis of which reliable statements can be made about the stability of a mast, i.e. its clamping in the ground and its existing material condition.

Dangers lurk in hiding

There are around 25 million masts in Germany - on roads, at intersections, on company premises or on sports fields. We make use of them and often waste little thought to the fact that these structures are not designed to last forever. The environment, people and animals influence the service life of masts and their foundations: Wind, stray currents, dog urine, soil moisture, vehicles and road salt lead to an irregular and unpredictable aging process.

Kundenrezensionen

  • We were looking for a specialist company that would be able to check and document the stability of our lighting masts on our training grounds. We found what we were looking for in Roch Services.

The inspection revealed that some masts had to be replaced immediately as their stability was no longer guaranteed. At the end we received detailed documentation in words, pictures and diagrams, which confirmed that we meet the public safety requirements.

We were satisfied with the preliminary work, the execution and the follow-up.

City of Kiel, Office for Sport Promotion

  • The Erfurt Sportbetrieb is responsible for the use and management of all municipal sports facilities in the urban area. As part of our obligation to ensure public safety, we inspect all installations subject to inspection in order to ensure that they are used without any endangerment.

With this in mind, we try to counteract damage caused by stability hazards to our lighting poles with regular checks and inspections. Because even when masts appear to be in order, safety inspections in recent years have discovered and subsequently replaced those with stability issues before damage could occur.

Erfurt regional capital of Thuringia, Erfurt sports facilities

  • The regional capital Munich operates various sport facilities with floodlighting. The floodlight poles are checked for stability at regular intervals in order to ensure traffic and operational safety.

The Roch Method is a unique way of detecting defects and damage at an early stage and thus avoiding material damages and personal injury.

The objective and comprehensible results from the mast inspection also substantially support the progress of projects in the context of structural acceptance, the planning of new buildings or the renovation of sports fields, as well as the conversion of masts to modern lighting fixtures.

Regional capital Munich, Building Department - Civil Engineering

  • hmm city of Rüsselsheim am Main operates 10 sport facilities with floodlighting. The equipment, the maintenance and especially the safety of these facilities are the foundation for success in sports.

As part of the general road safety obligation, the facilities at the sports facilities are regularly inspected and checked. Every 6 years, the inspection of the stability of floodlight poles is also part of our recurring inspection intervals.

expertise

Our technology sets the bar, worldwide

Roch Services GmbH is a testing laboratory accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and certified as per DIN EN ISO 9001 and thus has the proven expertise for stability testing of masts and other vertically anchored systems.

Lighting poles, traffic lights and signs - standing anchored systems can be found everywhere. In Germany alone, there are 25 million masts. At intersections, on roads, on company grounds. And every mast, theoretically, can fall over at one point, if these are not checked beforehand.

The Roch Stability Test comprises: checking, documenting and evaluating.

The Roch Stability Test is a detailed technical inspection in which the structure is tested on the physical basis of Hooke's Law using several force-displacement or force-time diagrams.

* The accreditation is valid for the scope specified in the D-PL-19434-01-00 annex.
